Modified 1.6 8v or 1.6 16v OEM Power Steering bracket

So, you have your 1.6 motor and your Samurai has AC and you want to have the best of both worlds. Power Steering and AC. 

To do this, you just need to have the stock AC and Power Steering brackets that come on the 1.6 motor. However, if you have already tried to mount this you will find that your Power Steering pump will hit the steering gear box on the Samurai.

To add more clearance to allow the mounting we modify the stock 1.6 Power Steering Pump bracket to allow you to gain more clearance in order to fit correctly and give you enough room to add tension to the belt.

Once you have the modified bracket everything bolts back onto the motor in their stock locations.

How do you proceed?

Send us your 1.6 bracket and we will modify it for you and return it.

PLEASE SPECIFY 8 Valve or 16 Valve in the "Order Instructions/Comments" box.

 

NOTE:

Note that the Samurai is a R12 AC system and needs to be converted to a R134 system. We can modify the aluminum lines on your system to make this easier. We need all hard lines from your Samurai (Firewall to AC pump and Condenser) and all hard lines from a Sidekick/Tracker (Firewall to AC pump and Condensor).  Call for more information.
