Suzuki Samurai OEM Replacement Crush Collar Spacer.

Many people get confused when they replace the Differential Seal thinking that you can just install the new seal, and reinstall the pinion and be on your way.

The reality is that once you remove the pinion nut the pre-load on the bearings have been lost.

PER OEM Manual (page 16-9)

"Bevel pinion preload is adjusted by tightening bevel pinion nut to crush spacer. Therefore, be sure to use a new spacer for adjustment and tighten pinion nut step by step

and for starting torque (preload) as often as tightening to prevent over crushing of spacer. If exceeds specification gien below during adjustment, replace spacer and repeat preload
