Petro Works Sidekick/Tracker Power Steering Kit.
Tired of fighting your Samurai's steering wheel to stay on the road or trail?
Do you come home at the end of a day from the trail with forearm burn?
Petro Works has solved this problem with our Sidekick/Tracker Power Steering Kit. This kit allows for the installation of a Sidekick/Tracker 1.6 motor Power Steering Setup.
This kit will work on 1.6 8v and 1.6 16v motors without AC.
The Petro Works kit is the only kit on the market to include our own WEDGE Bracket to mount the Sidekick Gear Box onto the Samurai frame in perfect alignment so that there are no bends in the steering shaft. We can also modify your Samurai steering shaft with your Sidekick/Tracker Steering shaft to eliminate the Rag joint.
The Power Steering Pump bracket mounts on all 3 motor combinations.
This system will NOT work with AC systems.
On the 1.6 motors, Petro Works can assist you with converting your R12 to R134 System and modifying the OEM 1.6 Brackets to allow both pumps to work. See USTR/SK-0135 for more information.

Everything went together very easy . I did have to modify the l.h. radiator mount to clear the steering gear . The steering pump was original to the 1996 16V 1.6 so I did not have to change any pullies . The belt I used was for a 2006 PT Cruiser , CARQUEST DAYCO # 5040345 . When doing the pump input fitting mod , remove the small cast locating pin next to the hole to allow the fitting to set flush to the pump body to keep o-ring fitting from leaking . 1988 1/2 SAMURAI , 1996 SIDEKICK 16V 1.6

Everything fit perfectly and the install was easy. Only complaint is that I think $200 for what I got is a little pricey.
